Requirements

In order to ensure that mediations in the RMFM Program are meaningful and productive, the Hillsborough Bar Foundation reviews each mediator who applies for a position. Additionally, applicants must meet the following qualifications to serve as a foreclosure mediator in the program:

  • Must be certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a Civil Circuit Mediator.
  • Must be certified as a foreclosure mediator.
  • Must be a current member of the Hillsborough County Bar Association.

Mediation Locations

Mediations usually take place on the second floor at the Hillsborough County Bar Foundation, Chester H. Ferguson Law Center, 1610 N. Tampa Street, Tampa, Florida, 33602. The Chester H. Ferguson Law Center is adjacent to the Stetson Law School Campus in downtown Tampa.  Nonetheless, the borrower’s circumstances (lack of transportation or disability) may require that the mediation take place at an alternate location approved and assigned by the Program Manager

Equipment

Mediators may bring their own laptop. Paper copies of Mediation Reports and Settlement Agreements will be provided at the mediation conference. Printers and paper will be made available if necessary. Information concerning the borrower and lender will be available to the mediator on the RMFM Program Case Management Interface (www.rmfmpinterface.com). In order to view your cases, you will need to register as a user on the RMFM Program Case Management Interface (www.rmfmpinterface.com) prior to being linked to your cases.
